Little Black Dress For Your LipsCharlotte Tilbury
I have to be honest I am not a red lipstick wearer! I have always been dubious about wearing bold colours on my lips sticking with my everyday neutrals, I know where I stand with them! I saw the new Scarlet Spell lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury which promised to be a universal shade to flatter everyone and took the plunge, it is almost Christmas and a festive lip colour is needed!
Before I go any further I have to talk about the design of Scarlet Spell, in particular the bullet itself! It is stunning with an intricate lip design around the bullet, I do not own a lipstick like it! It comes in the classic luxe rose gold packaging that Charlotte Tilbury is known and loved for.
Scarlet Spell is a beautiful berry red shade a real festive winter warmer! It is part of the matte revolution family, the formula promises to:
- Make the lips appear fuller
- Hydrate the lips
- Soften the lips
- Deliver long lasting colour
Scarlet Spell applies beautifully in one swipe, I had an even application and a beautiful pop of colour. The formula is buildable but I find one layer is sufficient for me as the colour is very pigmented, winner! I have used it with and without lipliner and have found it does not bleed or feather on me at all throughout the day. It plumps my lips slightly making them appear fuller and has a subtle glow to it ( yes I am all about the glow!) it makes my lips look healthy which is a challenge now it’s winter. It sits well on my lip balm that I always apply under lipstick, the application and colour distribution is not affected by it at all.
Once applied this lipstick feels lightweight and comfortable, it feels creamy and soft on my lips as opposed to drying , a lovely matte formula! I do leave a little evidence on my coffee cup and little ones faces (my poor boys!) which I would expect from such a pigmented lipstick. The colour is long lasting and stays on my lips for the majority of the day, I personally like to reapply once for some extra colour boost! I stay away from anyone wearing white as the colour is so pigmented, I don’t need any extra washing!
Scarlet Spell has given me confidence to explore more bold colours, I am so surprised by how comfortable I felt wearing it. I am happy wearing this shade day and night, I love the warm berry tone as it is striking but not overwhelmingly bright and I can’t wait to wear it on Christmas Day!
Scarlet Spell (£25.00) is limited edition and available exclusively from Charlotte Tilbury.
