I am like a kid in a candy shop when I see eyeshadow palettes, all the different colour combinations and possibilities have always appealed to me and bring out my creative side. I am not a makeup artist I just love to experiment and learn how to create different looks and with the right palette and colours the options are endless! I was kindly gifted the Winter Eyeshadow Palette and the Flamboyant Eyeshadow Palette from The Sunshine Brit to review and have been getting to know and playing with these palettes over the last month.
The Sunshine Brit is a cruelty free brand inspired by Maria’s rescue beagle Clifford, read more about his story here. I was really moved by Cliffords story and love that a donation is made to the Beagle Freedom Project with every purchase of the Winter Eyeshadow Palette.
Each palette contains twelve eyeshadows in beautiful white packaging with a lovely full sized mirror making it super easy for application and those close up checks! (mirrors are always appreciated I live in a house with only two mirrors both of which are upstairs!).
The Winter Eyeshadow Palette
I was immediately drawn to the Winter palette as I am a big fan of neutral eyeshadows and the colours did not disappoint. The palette has four matte shades (Naked, Amber, Diva, Stormy) and eight shimmer shades (Clo Clo, Latte, Party Girl, Ashleigh, Ice Queen, Donna, Truffle, Sparkle). I found it easy to put different combinations together to create various looks for everyday and evening, it was the perfect palette for some extra sparkle on Christmas Day! I enjoy using Ice Queen as an eyeshadow topper for some extra sparkle and Donna for a pop of colour. All the shades are easily wearable together or for a pop of colour alone, I have not created a look that I have not enjoyed from this palette and especially love the shimmers (I can never have enough sparkle!).
The Flamboyant Eyeshadow Palette
As soon as I saw the Flamboyant palette I smiled on these grey winter days the fun and beautiful colours were a welcome change. I love the versatility of the palette , neutrals for everyday and stunning colours to brighten up any look day or night. There are six matte shades (Purple Rain, Flamingo, Poppy, Foxy, Hot Fudge, Gingerlily) and six shimmer shades (Sassy, Risky, Fancy Pants, Sexy Pink, Coco, Emerald). I personally like to apply bold colours with a light hand and have been able to achieve a comfortable day time pop of colour using all the shades which can be enhanced easily for some evening glam. I particularly like Emerald for a day time look especially in the run up to Christmas! I can not wait for summer to use more of these colourful shades! (I just have to hide the palette from my little ones as they love the colours and think they can paint with it!).
I found all the eyeshadows in both palettes were wonderfully pigmented and easily buildable. The formula is buttery and extremely comfortable to wear (no irritation for my sensitive eyes!). The formula blends beautifully and is long lasting, perfect as time is always running away from me! I did experience some fall out from the shimmers but nothing that bothered me or was not expected in comparison to other palettes I own. I have really enjoyed using both the Winter and Flamboyant palette and look forward to being able to take them away on our holidays next year as they are the perfect travel size! (I just need to book it..!).
The Winter and Flamboyant Eyeshadow palettes ($37.00) are available exclusively from The Sunshine Brit. At the time of writing both are on offer at $27.00, a donation is made to charity supporting breast cancer research with each purchase of the Flamboyant palette and the Beagle Freedom Priect with each purhcase of the Winter Palette.
