I was so excited when I saw Charlotte Tilbury were adding to their Magic skincare family in the form of the recently launched Magic Serum Crystal Elixir! I am a fan of the famous Magic Cream and it’s immediate skin benefits, I have very high hopes for the Magic Serum Crystal Elixir and am not alone as it had a waitlist of over 8,000! I have put aside my current trusted serum (I feel like I am cheating on it!) to see if the Magic Serum will cast a spell on my current dehydrated and stressed skin.

The Magic Serum comes packaged in a beautiful glass bottle with a pipette dispenser, it feels weighty and luxurious as you would expect from Charlotte Tilbury! It contains 30ml of product which is standard for the serums I have used in the past. The pipette works well at dispensing the formula, it is not fiddly nor messy.

Charlotte calls The Magic Serum Crystal Elixir ‘The supercharged secret to your skins best future’. It promises younger looking skin and instant hydration, it is anti-aging and over time will reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and pores leaving the complexion firmer and even – a very busy and hardworking serum! It has been created to be suitable for all skin types.
The Pipette Dropper of the Magic Serum
The formula contains some skin loving ingredients:
- Magic 8 Complex – A unique formula exclusive to Charlotte Tilbury skincare.
- Polyglutamic Acid – To provide hydration, 4x more than Hyaluronic Acid.
- Golden Vitamin C – To brighten and even the skin tone.
- Niacinamide – To reduce the appearance of pores and strengthen the skins barrier.
- Replexium – Charlotte Tilbury’s patented blend of two peptides that encourage collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines.
- Plant Adaptogen Extracts – To improve and retain moisture.
- Crystal Complex – including Moonstone, Ruby, Crystal Quartz, Amethyst and Rose Quartz for their Holistic Healing and Health boosting properties

I am intrigued by the Crystal Complex! The benefits of crystals for our wellbeing have been studied and believed for many years. In my jewellery making days I would often combine assorted crystals for their complementing healing benefits and am extremely curious to see if the Crystal Complex improves my skins wellbeing through continual use!
The serum applies and absorbs easily, the formula is luxuriously silky and smooth. I find four drops is sufficient for an easily application. I warm the serum in my hands before massaging it into my skin. It does not leave a sticky residue and leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft. It has a slight floral scent which I do not find to be overpowering.

I have been using the Magic Serum for a week as part of my skincare routine both morning and evening and have seen some immediate benefits. My skin is instantly hydrated upon application, it plumps my skin and leaves my complexion smooth with a subtle glow – I do love a bit of glow! The formula is gentle on my sensitive skin causing no irritation and works well underneath my moisturiser and makeup.

So far so good! I will be continuing to use the Magic Serum over the next eight weeks and will be back to let you know if I notice any skin changing magic!
The Magic Serum Crystal Elixir (£60.00 30ml/£25.00 8ml) is available from Charlotte Tilbury, Cult Beauty*, Feelunique* and retail stockists.

I’ve never tried any CT skincare products before, just her cult Pillow Talk lipstick which, alas, does not suit me at all, it makes me look completely drained! But I do hear good things about her foundations and serums so I will keep watching this space to see if I change my mind! Lisa xx

I do not own Pillow Talk Lipstick myself although it suits me I have others to finish first. It doesn’t work for everyone sadly. If you do venture to try let me know! Thank you for reading
