If there is one show I was addicted to in my teenage years (and still am!) it was Friends. Friday night was Friends night and I couldn’t wait to catch up and laugh at their antics each week. It is an iconic show and when Revolution launched their newest collection in collaboration with Friends I had to snap up a piece!

The Friends X Revolution Collection includes four eyeshadow palettes, three of which are centred around the leading ladies Rachel, Monica and Phoebe. Each palette contains nine shades reflecting the characters look:
- Rachel – a collection of neutral pink tones
- Monica – a collection of warm rich berry tones
- Phoebe – a collection of soft pastel tones
I love the names of the eyeshadows, for Friends fans to be able to have an eyeshadow called Smelly Cat (Phoebe), Geller Cup (Monica) and On a Break (Rachel) makes my inner teenager scream! I opted for the Rachel palette.

The Rachel palette comes in feminine pink cardboard packaging with a picture of the iconic Central Perk sofa on the front. It is a lovely square compact which is lightweight and has a good size mirror enclosed, perfect for when we can all travel more in the future! It easily flips open to reveal nine shades to recreate the famous Rachel Green look.
Swatches
I found the shades swatched well with the exception of Barneys which was a little patchy.
- Shopping – white matte
- On a Break – light gold metallic
- Dinosaur – soft caramel matte
- 90’s – soft pink matte
- Barneys – warm brown pressed pigment
- Tag – silver bronze metallic
- Chip – golden bronze metallic
- Push Over – vibrant pink pressed pigment
- Crush – rich chocolate brown matte

Review Time!
Friends obsession aside the Rachel palette stood out to me with its soft neutral shades and metallics. The palette has a beautiful colour story and you can create soft everyday looks with ease. I found the shadows worked best for me on a primed eyelid, in particular when I used a cream shadow base. The mattes are soft and blend well, I did find I needed to work at building up the colour intensity of some shades, in particular Crush was a softer brown than I anticipated. The shadows are all buildable and layer well which I was pleased with.

The metallic shades contain small particles of glitter which did not feel gritty or uncomfortable. I do enjoy some shimmer and love using these for a subtle sparkle during the day. The pressed pigments give a great colour payoff and work best for me on a slightly tacky base to really achieve an intense colour.
I did experience some fallout on application which does not bother me as the palette is a great affordable price! I would suggest applying your eyeshadow before your base when using the palette to avoid having to touch up your makeup. The eyeshadows are long lasting and removed easily at the end of the day with my normal remover. The shade I will use the least is Push Over, as an avid fan I do not remember Rachel in such a vibrant pink shade (I will be keeping a closer eye on her makeup!) and would have preferred a black to use as a liner/smoke shade and in homage to when Ross did Rachel’s makeup (I said I was a big fan!).
My favourite shades are the metallics, I really do enjoy a hint of subtle sparkle! I love being able to create soft feminine looks with the Rachel palette and for Friends fans it really is a great affordable collection to own! The Rachel palette is a keeper in my collection! There will be a second series of the collection launched at the end of the year which I personally can not wait to see and predict a second sell out!

I have the Phoebe and Rachel palette (my sister has the Monica) and I love them all. Probably Rachel’s is my favourite because I think it is fun but wearable although I think Monica’s is appropriate for this time of the year! Ell x
