The Inkey List have always been a brand that excite me, their transparency of ingredients and dedication to educate and empower everyone in their knowledge of skincare without gimmicks they are a brand I always watch! Affordable with a vast selection of products catering for every skin and hair concern The Inkey List recently introduced their online recipe builder, I was invited to try it for myself and didn’t hesitate to find my match!

The recipe builder takes a couple of minutes to complete, with multiple choice questions it was easy to identify my skin and hair concerns. I have normal/combination skin and currently am looking to target hydration, fine lines and craving a healthy glowing appearance. My hair is fine, weak, dehydrated and my scalp has psoriasis which can be easily aggravated. The outcome was my own personal skincare and haircare recipe to target the areas I had identified as a concern, it included:

  • Hyaluronic Acid
  • Niacinamide
  • Polyglutamic Acid
  • Bakuchiol Moisturiser
  • Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser
  • Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment
  • Peptide Volumising Hair Treatment

Skincare Recipe

Let’s starts as I usually would in my routine with the Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser (£10.99)* a light gel based cleanser which exfoliates whilst removing dirt and makeup. It is gentle and effective leaving my skin feeling soft and smooth whilst also removing stubborn makeup at the end of the day, I personally prefer to use it as my second cleanse in the evening and love how healthy it leaves my skin looking! (It’s all about a healthy glow!).

I admit I am biased when it comes to the Hyaluronic Acid (£5.99)* this has been a regular fixture in my routine for years! obviously I was delighted to see it as part of my skincare recipe! A lightweight serum which soaks into my skin with ease giving it that much needed dose of hydration whilst plumping my skin leaving it looking healthy, a no brainer as obviously I love it!

The Niacinamide (£6.99)* has been on my to try list forever and I was so excited to finally get it on my skin. A lovely lightweight serum it layers well in my routine and reduced the appearance of my redness, it works brilliantly following the Hyaluronic Acid and adds some extra hydration which I always appreciate.

If I am honest I had never given the Polyglutamic Acid (£12.99)* a second look when browsing and have been pleasantly surprised by how much it has benefited my skin leaving it looking and feeling smooth and even. Helping the skin to lock in and retain moisture, I personally enjoy using it before my moisturiser or as suggested adding a couple of drops to my foundation for some extra hydration!

The final step in my recipe builder skincare routine is the Bakuchiol Moisturiser (£9.99)* which soaks in beautifully. The formula includes Squalane and Sacha Inchi for some added nourishment and hydration, leaving my skin feeling smooth and soft. A gentle natural retinol alternative which my skin responded well to.

Haircare Recipe

I was so excited to when The Inkey List introduced Haircare to their collection and had very high hopes! The Peptide Volumising Hair Treatment (£9.99)* is a lightweight serum which has given my fine hair some much needed ooomph! I use it after washing my hair and through consistent use my hair feels stronger and thicker which as I rarely get the opportunity to blow dry I am loving!

My scalp psoriasis is easily aggravated and I am cautious with treatments, the Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment (£11.99)* caused no discomfort (phew!). A gentle exfoliating serum which I love massaging in gently before each wash, a great way to relax at the end of the day! My scalp is left feeling so soft and is considerably less oily which has been wonderful during our mini UK heatwave! I admit I didn’t know what to expect from the haircare collection and am pleased with the results and improvement in my hairs condition.

I love that the recipe builder has introduced me to new products I had not previously considered trying, a great way to discover new products that work for my skin and hair! If I had to pick my top three (excluding the Hyaluronic Acid which I have previously used!) I would go with the Niacinamide, Fulvic Acid Brightening Cleanser and Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Scalp Treatment.
