With so many foundations available we expect more than just coverage from our base and added skincare benefits are not negotiable. I was excited to see the Et Al Intelligent Skin Cream Foundation promised not only a beautiful coverage but was also full of skin care actives. Et Al means ‘and more’ which is reflected throughout their collection. Female founded with a background of the best of both worlds – Makeup Artist and Science they created a collection of makeup they wish existed. Conscious of their impact on the planet the formulas are packed full of sustainably sourced ingredients and the packaging is recyclable and refillable . I attended the launch event and it was clear that the collection has been curated to achieve high performing makeup without the need for excessive products. The Intelligent Skin Cream Foundation comes in a luxe frosted glass bottle with a pump dispenser. I was matched to shade 90C.

I’ve been using the Foundation Brush daily. A flat tapered brush for precise and even coverage the Foundation Brush is the perfect partner for an easy application. Lightweight and easy to manoeuvre it makes blending effortless and quickly achieves an even finish. The bristles feel so soft and comfortable on my skin, synthetic and cruelty free they mimic a natural brush perfectly. In line with minimum impact on the planet the handle is made from post-consumer plastic which I love. If you prefer application using a beauty sponge the Buffing Brush (£28.00 seen in images above) mimics and feels like a beauty sponge and is worth checking out!

My Review

A smooth and creamy consistency the Intelligent Skin Cream Foundation feels as luxurious as it looks. A light weight formula it blends in easily leaving a smooth and even finish. A medium coverage foundation it quickly evens my skin tone and reduces the appearance of my rosacea. Naturally brightening it adds a hint of natural radiance with a soft matte finish which smooths and blurs leaving my skin looking more polished. Easy to build to your desired coverage it layers beautifully and doesn’t cake or emphasise my pores. I like to apply one pump for a light coverage and then build on my cheeks and nose where I need a little more help. Comfortable it feels weightless and has great long lasting wear, I never need to touch it up which is great!

It’s safe to say that when I first tried the foundation at the launch event my skin was a hot mess. Travel and the heatwave at the time caused my skin havoc and the foundation instantly calmed and soothed its irritation. Incredibly hydrating it works magic on my dehydrated areas and overtime has improved their appearance which is fantastic. It truly is the best of both nourishing my skin whilst giving a beautiful long lasting finish. If you are looking for a foundation which gives your skin as much care as it does coverage you won’t be disappointed!
