A good moisturiser is the icing on the cake, the perfect finish to all the goodness you have put on your skin. Caroline Hirons needs no introduction, a skincare encyclopaedia she has tried it all and when she launched Skin Rocks it’s safe to say expectations were high. Recently a new moisturiser joined the family – The Rich Moisturiser. I have been using both The Moisturiser and The Rich Moisturiser consistently in my routine for two months, keep reading to find out more!

The Skin Rocks Moisturisers both come in vibrant green glass jars which feel so luxe. They open easily to reveal the moisturisers enclosed. The packaging is completely recyclable and sturdy, there have been the odd slip out of the hand and I am happy to confirm no breakages! They are aesthetically pleasing but also keep the moisturiser enclosed fresh and airtight. See the textures up close here! To recap my skin is dehydrated, showing early signs of ageing and prone to redness/rosacea.

The Moisturiser (£58.00)

Jam packed full of skin loving goodness to boost skin health including ceramides, squalane, hyaluronic acid and Pro-Vitamin D3. The Moisturiser promises to hydrate and soothe the skin whilst improving elasticity and the appearance of redness. It has a smooth, light texture which feels lovely on the skin and absorbs beautifully instantly softening, smoothing and giving my skin a brighter appearance. The refreshing scent adds a luxurious feel, it is beautiful!

I have used The Moisturiser in both my morning and evening routines and it works brilliantly. Light and hydrating it gives my skin the perfect start to the day as well as a smooth base for my makeup. In the evening it locks in all my skincare routine and I love knowing I will wake up with healthy looking skin regardless of if I managed my eight hours. Despite having a lighter texture than its richer sibling it really works wonders at keeping my skin hydrated and glowing. We all know consistency is the golden rule when it comes to skincare and overtime my skin tone is more even with my redness reduced and my complexion looks significantly healthier.

The Rich Moisturiser (£65.00)

With a fabulous ingredients line up including ceramides, cholesterol, essential fatty acids, olive glycerides and lipid-rich oils (phew!) the Rich Moisturiser has been created with dry skin in mind. Promising to improve hydration, boost skin barrier health and soothe and reduce skin sensitivity it is a nourishing powerhouse. This is ideal if you enjoy thick creams, it has a luxurious rich texture which feels simply wonderful, like a cosy jumper for my skin.

My dehydrated skin drinks the Rich Moisturiser up! A little goes a long way and although a rich texture it doesn’t feel heavy and absorbs beautifully. It feels calming and soothing giving my skin some much needed TLC at the end of the day. I personally prefer to use this in the evening only for it to really sink in. It layers well with my other skincare products and is the perfect ending to my routine locking in all the goodness. Overtime my skin is softer, smoother, plumper and feels more resilient. What is really noticeable is it no longer feeling tight and uncomfortable with me running to hydrate and relieve it.

Both moisturisers are gentle and I experienced no irritation with my skin feeling simply great after use. Incredibly hydrating used either together or alone they have given my skin some intense hydration and the TLC it has needed. I look forward to using them daily, so much so I’m almost at the end of both and really working to make them last! I will be exploring more from Skin Rocks!
