Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Review

I love the sound of opening a new mascara, the pop of a new wand full and ready to coat my lashes and transform my eyes into looking wide and awake – pure magic! I have never tried Too Faced mascaras and was excited to give their recently launched Damn Girl Mascara a test drive!

This mascara comes in beautiful rose gold holographic packaging, it doesn’t feel heavy which I like as it won’t weigh down my handbag! It has a unique mousse formula which has been created to give amazing lightweight volume on the lashes, I love a lightweight mascara and often find volumizing mascaras feel too heavy on my lashes so I was intrigued to see if it worked!

The dual fibre wand

The wand is a unique design and is considerably larger than what I am accustomed to using. The dual fibre brush has been especially created to capture and lift every lash to give maximum volume and curl. The size of this wand does take some getting used to and I do find it does makes it slightly awkward to coat my shorter inner eye lashes, I love to coat every lash including the little shorties!

I have been using Damn Girl for a week and have had extremely volumised lashes! The formula is thick and creamy and fills the wand with a lot of product on each bristle, I had to fight my natural instinct to clear the wand before use. Despite having a thick formula I did find the mascara to be lightweight on my lashes which was a pleasant surprise I really expected to feel the weight of it.

One coat vs no coats
After (one coat on each eye)

My mascara stayed put all day with no flaking which is always a big win! The formula certainly lifted and lengthened my lashes giving them volume, I did find it clumped slightly on application but nothing too extreme that it bothered me, my lashes looked thicker without looking like spiders on my eyes (flashback to my teen years!).

I usually prefer a light natural look from my mascaras but I was pleasantly surprised with how it looked. I am really impressed with how much volume the formula gives my lashes! My eyes are really sensitive (if I use the wrong product I pretty much look like I am sobbing all day) I had no irritation from this formula which is a huge plus for me!

Despite the thick formula I found it easy to remove at the end of the day with my usual make up remover which was great as many thicker mascaras can take some time to remove (you know that feeling like your pulling your lashes off, no one likes that!).

Overall I really enjoyed Damn Girl and was pleased with the look it achieved, I personally would prefer a smaller wand for a quicker and easier application however this has not stopped me enjoying it.

Too Faced Damn Girl can be purchased from Too Faced and retail stockists, RRP £22.00.
