If you are a regular reader you will know I am a Charlotte Tilbury fan, however not everything by brands I love works for me and my previous encounters with Charlotte Tilbury mascaras have not wowed me. Sadly Full Fat Lashes and I were not destined to be friends and Legendary Lashes II works for me but isn’t my makeup bag must have. I was intrigued to see a new mascara launch from Charlotte Tilbury and if it would be third time lucky for my lashes!
Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes comes packaged in pink and rose gold packaging in keeping with the Pillow Talk collection. It comes in two size options – travel and full size. I opted for the travel size to test it out!
What It Promises:
Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara promises to:
- Lengthen your lashes
- Instantly add volume to your lashes
- Lift and define your lashes
- Feel weightless on your lashes
- Smudge proof and humidity proof
- Suitable for all types of lashes
I love avoiding using an eyelash curler where possible and the promise of a vertical lift effect gives me high hopes I can keep my eyelash curler safely hibernating!
Charlotte Tilbury always include some magic ingredients in their formulas and Push Up Lashes Mascara is no exception:
- Kerestore 2.0 Keratin – unique to Charlotte Tilbury to provIde a conditioning effect on your lashes making them feel and appear thicker and fuller
- Natural Waxes – A combination of lightweight Carnauba wax and Microcrystalline wax to give your lashes weightless volume creating a false lash effect.
The wand is a paddle brush design created to load, comb and lift your lashes. The flat sides will load the mascara onto your lashes and the comb side has fine diamond shaped bristles to capture and lift every lash. There is a recommended technique for application which can be viewed on Charlotte Tilbury. It is suggested to apply first using the flat side then turning the wand to the brush side to comb the product through your lashes creating volume and lift.
I have been using Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes for two weeks and have a lot of thoughts to share with you, I will try not to waffle!
Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes is an intense jet black mascara which draws attention immediately to my eyes. I have followed the suggested technique when applying, it truly does help to achieve the best finish from the mascara. The wand does hold a lot of product and packs it onto my lashes, I do find I need to remove some product to avoid applying too much which on my lashes can cause slight clumping, thankfully I can rectify this using the wand before it dries down without affecting my finished look. The wand separates my lashes easily and captures every tiny lash immediately giving volume and lift resulting in bright wide eyes which I do love! I find one coat gives me full lashes and have not felt the need to apply a second coat.
The formula is thicker than what I usually opt to use, if you like thick lashes this is one for you! It is long lasting which is great, however it does take a bit of extra time to remove so do allow yourself a few extra minutes on your lashes in the evening. I have experienced occasional transfer from my lashes to my under eyes which was disappointing. I do not like to set my under eye with too much powder now I am getting older which could prevent the transfer from occurring and if you do set your under eye you may not experience this.
I do love the wide eyed look you can acheieve with Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara. It pains me to say this is not for me my everyday mascara as personally I prefer a thinner consistency and do not always have the time for a specific application when rushing out the door. I will continue to use Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara on days I have more time to glam!
