Lets be honest not everything by brands we love works for us. My previous experiences with Charlotte Tilbury mascaras have not wowed me. Sadly Full Fat Lashes and I were not destined to be friends. Legendary Lashes II works for me but isn’t a makeup bag must have. I was intrigued to see if the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara would be third time lucky for my lashes!

Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes comes packaged in the classic Charlotte Tilbury pink and rose gold tube. Available in two size options – travel and full size. I opted for the travel size to test it out!

The Wand

The wand is a paddle brush design created to load, comb and lift your lashes. The flat sides will load the mascara onto your lashes. Whilst the comb side has fine diamond shaped bristles to capture and lift every lash. There is a recommended technique for application which can be viewed on Charlotte Tilbury. For the perfect application it is suggested to apply first using the flat side. Followed by turning the wand to the brush side to comb the product through your lashes creating volume and lift.

Review

Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes is an intense jet black mascara which draws attention immediately to my eyes. I have followed the suggested technique when applying, it truly does help to achieve the best finish from the mascara. The wand holdsa lot of product and packs it onto my lashes. I find I need to remove some product to avoid applying too much and prevent slight clumping. Thankfully I can rectify this using the wand before it dries down without affecting my finished look. The wand glides through my lashes with ease, seperating and capturing every lash. It gives instant volume and lift leaving a beautiful wide eyed finish. One coat gives me fuller lashes and have not felt the need to apply a second coat.

The formula is quite thick, if you like thick and volumised lashes this is one for you. It is long lasting and stayed put all day which was great. It took a little extra time to remove with my cleanser however it all melted away without irritation. I have experienced occasional transfer from my lashes to my under eyes which was disappointing. As I’m getting older I don’t set my undereyes frequently. That being said when set my undereye I experience no transfer which is something to keep in mind if you do.

I do love the wide eyed look you can achieve with Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara. Although I do enjoy the finish this personally is not my everyday mascara. I prefer a thinner consistency and do not always have the time for a specific application. I’ll be saving Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara on days I have more time to glam!
