If you are a regular reader you will know I love a dewy finish and am not naturally drawn to a matte finish. When the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Matte arrived I decided to go against my norm and give it a try, having reviewed the Original and Illuminated finish it was only right to complete the hat trick!
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream Matte comes packaged in a metallic turquoise tube with a pump dispenser in keeping with the CC+ family. The pump is not stiff or fiddly and dispenses the perfect amount of product for application.
The CC+ Cream Matte Promises To:
- Give you a flawless full coverage natural matte finish
- Hydrate your skin
- Be skin loving and anti-ageing
- Will not crease or crack
- Reduce shine and oil on your skin
- Reduce the appearance of redness and dark circles
- Contains SPF40 to protect your skin from sun damage
The formula is oil free which is perfect for those with oily prone skin.
If you are a regular reader you will know I love added skincare benefits in my makeup and IT Cosmetics never disappoint and always include some skin loving ingredients:
- Collagen – supports elasticity helping your skin to appear younger looking
- Peptides – reduces the appearance of wrinkles and smooths your skin
- Hylauronic Acid – to boost hydration
- Tea Tree Extract – reduces and calms the appearance of redness
- Charcoal – absorbs impurities and excess oil, helps to minimise the appearance of pores
The CC+ Cream Matte is wonderfully smooth and creamy, it has a thick consistency which distributes and applies easily on my skin. I find one pumps gives me a medium coverage and two pumps will give me a full coverage, I personally prefer a medium coverage and love how little product I need to use to achieve it. It is a buildable formula which I love and layers well without settling in my fine lines or creasing.
Being the dewy finish fan that I am I was pleasantly surprised by the matte finish, this matte is not flat (I feel like that should be a rap!). My complexion appears healthy and bright without being glowy, I often experience matte formulas leaving a dull finish and was thrilled this was not the case. It left me with an even complexion, hiding my redness and blemishes easily whilst still looking like my skin. My combination skin is oily around my nose and chin and I was happy to see less shine in these areas.
The CC+ Cream Matte feels comfortable and lightweight on my skin, it gives great coverage whilst still letting my skin breathe without clogging my pores. I do enjoy a multitasker and enjoy using it under my eyes as a concealer, a great timesaver on the school run! It is long lasting and stays I’m place all day which is always a win! It leaves my skin feeling smooth and hydrated which is perfect now the cooler months are approaching.
I love the ease and effectiveness of the CC+ Cream and am pleasant surprised to enjoy the matte finish as much as I do. It gives my complexion a lift without appearing too glowy, perfect if you are not a fan of a dewy appearance. Finish is personal preference and I love that the CC+ Cream family has options to suit everyone. The CC+ Cream Matte will work beautifully for you if your skin type is normal/oily, I would avoid if you are prone to dry skin and suggest trying the Illuminated or Original finish.
Original CC+ Cream Vs Illuminated Vs Matte
I love that all of the CC+ Creams are long lasting and give me a smooth and even finish. I feel I can achieve a medium /full coverage with the Original and Matte CC+ Cream with less applications than I can with the Illuminated finish. The key difference the matte finish is its SPF40 factor which is lower than the SPF50 contained in the Original and Illuminated formulas. Apart from the difference in finish all three CC+ Creams are easy to apply blending and layering well, are long lasting and hydrating. I have included full face comparisons below for reference, do you have a preference?

IT Cosmetic CC+ Creams are available in three finishes (£32.00) Matte (SPF40), Original (SPF50) and Illuminating (SPF50). All are available from IT Cosmetics, Boots, Cult Beauty* and retail stockists.
