My Review

The best of both the Merit Solo Shadow applies easily and smoothly as a cream before setting as a powder. It blends quickly and effortlessly leaving an even and elegant soft matte finish. It is an extremely flattering shadow which doesn’t emphasise lines and gives my lids a more even appearance which I am really impressed with (I’m not getting any younger!). A little goes a long way and I love its versatility, applied using my fingers it gives a sheer wash of colour and using a brush a soft pop of colour. It’s super easy to build the colour without ever affecting the finish.

Once it dries down it doesn’t move and gives me a beautiful long lasting colour which stays put all day. I have used it alone and alongside cream and powder eyeshadows and it works perfectly if you do want to create different looks. The No2 Brush feels soft and comfortable to use and picks up the perfect amount of product every time. I do recommend allowing a little extra time to remove at the end of the day and found my cleansing balms made quick work of it. Described by Merit as ‘impossible to mess up’ and I completely agree. This is perfect for minimal makeup lovers and anyone who enjoys an effortless one and done eye look. A beautiful eyeshadow I know I will finish!
