Mascara is personal and I expect a lot from it. Often the only makeup I have time to put on before the school run I need it to stay put whilst giving my eyes that wide awake look I need. It’s no secret I am a fan of Vieve and when their new Modern Mascara launched I couldn’t get it on my lashes quick enough. I have been using it for the past few weeks, keep reading to find out more!
Taking three years to develop the Modern Mascara comes in a beautiful golden rectangular tube. It is quite weighty and feels luxurious, more than its’s price tag. I also love the shape which lends itself for easy organising of my makeup.

Before and After
Knowing how long the Modern Mascara took to develop it’s fair to say my expectations were high. The wand is lightweight and defines and lifts my lashes instantly. Quickly I can achieve longer and fuller lashes with one coat giving my eyes a wider appearance. The wand holds a lot of product, making quick work of application. I have quite long lashes (thanks to my lash serum) and hooded eye lids, on application I do experience some transfer to my lids which is worth noting. I have tweaked my application to prevent this by removing some mascara from the brush before applying which works brilliantly. You can see it in action here.
A highly pigmented true black, one coat gives the perfect daytime impact and two coats a more dramatic evening look. I found the formula was quite wet allowing plenty of time to build to your preferred finish. No matter how many coats I applied I am happy to say my lashes remained clump free which is always an essential!
The formula is gentle and caused my eyes no irritation. Once set it stayed in place all day, my lashes looked exactly the same eight hours later as when I first applied. There was no flaking or panda eyes in sight. Despite it’s long lasting power it removed easily with my regular cleansing balm or oil. Overall I am impressed with the Modern Mascara and how long lasting it wears, another great addition to the Vieve family!
